Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Level 2 Data Center Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of server and network infrastructure within a data center environment. This is an onsite, 1-year contract in the greater Portland area, located in Hillsboro, OR.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of data center experience, hands-on wiring and server hardware skills, basic Linux knowledge, and the ability to follow SOPs while maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of data center experience
• Experience with fiber and copper cabling
• Basic Linux knowledge and CLI
• Understanding safety and access control procedures
• Experience with server hardware installation and maintenance
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and SOPs
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server hardware and connectivity, identify root causes, and fix issues
• Install, replace, and maintain server components and hardware
• Coordinate return of defective parts with vendors per warranty/RMA
• Perform firmware upgrades and maintain current versions
• Configure IP addresses and network settings on servers
• Assist Network Administrators with server and infrastructure tasks
• Document installations, repairs, and changes accurately
• Follow data center safety, security, and operational procedures
• Support data center operations to maximize system availability
