Job summary

Affirm is seeking an experienced engineer to architect and evolve its EKS platform, driving cluster lifecycle, provisioning, upgrades, and teardown through standardized IaC and self-service workflows.

You will own the reliability of core components, define workload safety standards, and advance policy-driven enforcement with a strong focus on automation and observability. This role requires leadership across platform and SRE teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or infra engineering with complex platform delivery.
• 6+ years operating production Kubernetes at scale, ideally EKS on AWS.
• Strong cloud-native architecture experience on AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS).
• Expert-level Go or Python and production-grade Kubernetes tooling.
• Ability to design and enforce platform standards with automation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the EKS platform and cluster lifecycle.
• Lead IaC workflows and self-service provisioning for clusters.
• Own reliability of shared components and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define workload safety standards and policy enforcement.
