Affirm, Inc. is seeking an accomplished platform engineer to architect and evolve our EKS-based Compute Platform.

You will drive cluster lifecycle strategy, provisioning and upgrades through IaC and self-service workflows while owning core shared components and CI/CD pipelines for reliability. You will define workload safety standards, automate policy enforcement, and build observability with audits to measure risk over time.

Qualificações

• 10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering with delivery of complex platform solutions.
• 6+ years operating production Kubernetes at scale, ideally AWS EKS.
• Cloud-native architecture experience on AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS).
• Infrastructure as Code fluency with Terraform and GitOps deployment pipelines.
• Go or Python production-grade Kubernetes controllers and tooling.
• Ability to design and enforce standards across many teams.
• Leadership and cross-functional influence; equivalent practical experience or Bachelors.

Responsabilidades

• Architect and evolve the EKS platform, driving strategy for cluster lifecycle and shared components.
• Lead technical direction for cluster provisioning, upgrades, and teardown with IaC and self-service workflows.
• Own reliability of shared components and CI/CD pipelines for shipping them.
• Define workload safety standards and enforcement strategies.
• Build automation to move standards from research to policy-enforced defaults.
• Establish observability, audits, and reporting to identify hotspots and risk.
• Partner with cluster-user teams to align workload needs with the platform.
• Drive cost and capacity strategy across node scaling and EC2 selection.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations with SRE.
• Stay current with Kubernetes best practices and adapt them for Affirm.
