Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an engineering leader to drive the EKS platform, owning both the foundational services and the management plane's availability at scale. You will define product and technical direction, partner across teams, and ensure operational excellence.

You will lead a team focused on multi-cluster capabilities, fleet-scale upgrades, and reliable lifecycle management for thousands of clusters, shaping the roadmap and delivering features weekly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Define product and technical direction, partner with adjacent teams to coordinate architecture and feature delivery, and own operational posture end to end: on call, incident response, and availability metrics.
• Build and grow a high performing team with a culture of ownership and operational rigor.
• Lead the teams responsible for the infrastructure that keeps EKS running reliably at scale.
