Job summary

Principal Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer II to design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS with a strong emphasis on security and efficiency.

The role collaborates with DevOps, development, and security teams to ensure highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure. You will drive automation using Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD, while integrating with CI/CD pipelines and enforcing best practices across the environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent
• 2+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience, preferably AWS EKS
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Proficiency with Helm and ArgoCD for Kubernetes apps
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) and security
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices
• Understanding of RBAC, network policies, and secrets management
• Familiarity with monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging
• Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS
• Integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines for containerized apps
• Automate tasks using Terraform, Helm, and other IaC tools
• Monitor and optimize cluster performance and resource usage
• Implement security best practices (RBAC, network policies)
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams
• Plan cluster upgrades, scaling, and DR readiness
• Develop architecture and process documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship
• Help integrate Kubernetes into the software development lifecycle
