Job summary

Amazon EKS is seeking a Software Development Engineer to advance cluster lifecycle, health detection, and resilience across a distributed Kubernetes control plane. You will own end-to-end features from design to production, working with teams to deliver reliable, scalable services that help customers run containers efficiently.

You will tackle complex engineering challenges, manage on-call responsibilities, and contribute to fault-tolerant systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (reliability and scaling).
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve state machines and orchestration workflows for cluster create, update, and upgrade operations.
• Develop health-detection systems to surface actionable insights before issues become outages.
• Contribute to resilience capabilities (rollback, failover, self-healing) from design through production.
• Collaborate with engineers across EKS to solve cross-service problems.
