Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer II to design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS, collaborating with DevOps, development, and security teams to maintain high availability, security, and performance.

The role emphasizes infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD integration, and ongoing optimization, with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence the cloud architecture.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field and 8+ years of work experience or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and lead Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS
• Integrate with CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
• Automate Kubernetes tasks with Helm and Terraform
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes performance
• Implement RBAC and network policies for security
• Collaborate with development & operations to integrate Kubernetes into SDLC
• Handle cluster scaling, upgrades and capacity planning
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes architecture documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship
