Job summary

The Kroc Center in Memphis is seeking a full-time Recreation-focused team member dedicated to delivering outstanding service to members and guests. You will greet visitors, handle transactions, and support a clean, safe environment across the center.

Responsibilities include assisting with inquiries, following policies, and participating in meetings and trainings to continually improve customer experiences. Must meet attendance and physical requirements for a dynamic fitness setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years experience in customer relations and leading fitness/recreational activities.
• Certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor preferred or equivalent experience.
• Certifications: Safe From Harm Certification, Blood Borne Pathogens Certification.
• Must have or obtain CPR/First Aid/AED within first 30 days of employment.

• Answers incoming phone calls and addresses needs in a professional and kind manner
• Uphold Kroc Center policies to maintain and safe and family friendly environment
• Operates CCMS/RMS computer software for customer transactions in accordance to Salvation Army and member policies
• Handles cash transactions in an ethical manner
• Uses CCMS system to check-in members and guests, Attends department and center meetings and trainings

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-advanced weight lifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent changes basis.

What We Are Looking For In You

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• 2-4 years' experience in customer relations and leading fitness and/or recreational activities
• Certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor preferred -or- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Certifications: Safe From Harm Certification Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide/AED certification within first 30 days of employment.
