Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Must have a valid CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty automotive and grounds-keeping equipment (knuckleboom truck, dump truck, chipper, chainsaws).
• Hauls dirt, rocks and sand to work sites with a dump truck.
• Loads dozer for transport; pushes and compacts landfill with a dozer.
• Spreads gravel with a grader.
• Lays asphalt and packs utility cuts with a packer.
• Participates in weed eating, shoveling, and digging ditches.
• Operates street sweeper, street flusher, chipper, front-end loader, backhoe, bulldozer or grader.
• Operates front-end loader to load asphalt, gravel, sand, rock, slag, slurry onto trucks.
• Operates dragline and clamshell for digging ditches and lifting materials.
• Operates low-boy and winch trucks for hauling equipment and removing debris.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment (greases, oils, checks).
• Cleans drains.
