Job summary

Accenture is seeking an experienced Knowledge Modeler / Ontologist to shape enterprise knowledge graphs. You will lead ontology lifecycle, design schemas, and align models with business goals and governance practices.

You will work across data engineering, AI/ML, and business SME teams in a hybrid role, traveling to client sites as needed. A strong background in OWL, RDF, SKOS, SHACL, and SPARQL is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in ontology engineering or semantic web.
• Experience delivering enterprise domain ontologies in consulting or corporate settings.
• Strong ability to translate business concepts into machine-readable semantics.

Responsibilities

• Lead ontology lifecycle: requirements, conceptual modeling, formal specification (OWL2/RDFS/SKOS), validation, deployment.
• Design T-Box schemas and support A-Box hydration across structured/unstructured data.
• Apply naming conventions, URI strategies, and modular ontology architectures.
• Develop ontologies, taxonomies, vocabularies using OWL/RDF/RDFS/SKOS.
• Map relational or semi-structured data into semantic models; build knowledge graphs.
• Govern ontology changes with versioning, SHACL/ShEx validation, and DoD criteria.
• Collaborate with NLP and data engineering teams on ontology-guided extraction.
• Engage business SMEs to validate competency questions and ensure scope alignment.
