Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar in Michigan is seeking a General Utility team member to maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, plateware and utensils in a clean, sanitary condition while assisting in food preparation.

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a fast-paced, occasionally hot environment as part of a collaborative team dedicated to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Solving practical problems and interpreting instructions from written, oral, diagram or schedule forms.

Responsibilities

• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and loads dishwasher.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine.
• Completes all assigned prep work.
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area.
• Washes work area tables, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles.
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine.
• Transports cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Place plates, utensils, pans and cases on shelves at various heights.
• Work indoors and outdoors; often in hot and damp environments.
• Respond to emergencies to prevent danger to self and others.
