Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations under the Cook and Dietary supervisor. You will help set up meal trays, assist with serving, and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes, and a valid food handlers’ certificate. Candidates must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work well with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Standing and/or walking most of the shift; lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary; assist cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.
