Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist the cook with food preparation and presentation in a senior care dining operation. You will manage the dishwashing area, keep dishes and equipment clean, and support dining room service as needed.

You will prepare items, portion salads and desserts, and assist with kitchen cleaning and sanitation. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must wear slip resistant footwear.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with food prep and presentation.
• Manage dishwashing area and ensure cleanliness of dishes, silverware, and glassware.
• Support dining operations as needed.
• Prepare items; portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Clean kitchen floors and equipment; assist with general cleaning.
• Set up and run the dishwashing area; keep the dishwasher clear.
• Clean pots and pans as needed; inspect water temps and sanitation equipment.
• Take out garbage and help with dining room service.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings; provide excellent resident service.
