Job summary

Kennesaw State University is seeking a supervisory cook to oversee dining hall operations, ensure food quality and safety, and support menu execution across locations. This role reports to the Sous Chef and requires hands-on cooking and leadership in a busy campus setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain within 12 months, and at least two years of cooking/baking experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manager ServSafe certified or obtains certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Two (2) years of related cooking and/or baking experience.
• Technical training in commercial food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff in assigned area.
• Performs general cooking and/or baking duties per established guidelines and location(s).
• Leads continuous training in food preparation techniques, safety and quality control.
• Assists in testing and implementing new recipes to the menu.
• Assists with menu development.
• Ensures high food quality following regulations and guidelines, including tasting for quality control.
• Performs other preparation and sanitation duties as required.
• Leads the preparation of bakery and station items from scratch.
