Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a kitchen, train staff, and coordinate work to support efficient operations. The role emphasizes sanitation, safety, and adherence to food preparation standards across multiple tasks.

The position involves directing inmates in use of recipes, ensuring proper portions, and complying with HACCP policies and security procedures. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
• Must follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to production guidelines and review production/temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in recipe usage and proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure correct portions and accommodate special dietary needs.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; keep storage areas locked.
