Job summary

Shaner Hotels in Marathon, FL is seeking a professional line cook to join our kitchen team. You will plan, prep and produce menu items in accordance with culinary standards while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of line cook experience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to train others. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; flexibility for weekends and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a line cook; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school graduate or equivalent; certification of culinary training preferred.
• Safe food handling certificate.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment use and safety; operate tools properly.
• Establish standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions.
• Assist with training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating performance.
• Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Plan, prep and provide quality service in all areas of food production per standards.
• Assist with direction, training, and monitoring of kitchen staff; maintain organization and sanitation of work areas.
