Job summary

Practice Hospitality is seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join the team at the Hilton Dallas Park Cities. This role oversees daily kitchen operations and leads the culinary team to ensure food is prepared safely and to standard.

The candidate will supervise production across stations, train staff on recipes and sanitation, and monitor quality, inventory, and timely service. Full-time, non-exempt employment with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of broiler, sauté, fry, roast, moist heat and other cooking methods.
  • Good working knowledge of sanitation standards.
  • Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, kettles).
  • Basic math skills to understand recipes, measurements, and portions.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to complete requisitions and communicate with team.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs and work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and supports kitchen staff during assigned shifts, coordinating station assignments and ensuring timely food prep and service.
  • Trains and coaches team on recipes, techniques, portion control, sanitation, and equipment use; provides feedback.
  • Monitors food quality, presentation, temperature, sanitation, and safety; takes corrective action as needed to uphold standards.

Job Role

Responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations and leading the culinary team to ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently, and according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations. Supervises food production across all kitchen stations, including the preparation of meats, seafood, poultry, sauces, stocks, seasonings, and other menu items. Provides direction, training, and support to kitchen employees while monitoring sanitation, food safety, inventory, waste control, station readiness, and timely service.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises, directs, and supports kitchen employees during assigned shifts, including coordinating station assignments, monitoring productivity, and ensuring timely completion of food preparation and service.
  • Trains and coaches culinary team members on recipes, preparation techniques, portion control, sanitation procedures, equipment use, and departmental standards; provides performance feedback and addresses concerns as needed.
  • Monitors food quality, presentation, temperature, sanitation, and kitchen safety throughout the shift, taking prompt corrective action to maintain brand standards and compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
  • Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of the broiler, sauté, fry, roast, moist heat and other cooking methods.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions read recipes and communicates with other team members. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on continuous schedule.
  • Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
