Job summary

The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (CALV) is seeking a Kitchen Steward Instructor to deliver curriculum and supervise students in classroom and hands-on training within CALV’s campus in North Las Vegas, NV. You will guide learners toward employment readiness in the Las Vegas hospitality industry.

Responsibilities include teaching to CALV standards, ensuring safety and sanitation, evaluating progress, and coordinating with departments for training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required (or recognized equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Stewarding department.
• Banquet stewarding in a hotel-casino or high-volume operation preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of training or teaching experience preferred.
• Current SNHD Food Handler Safety Training Card required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Kitchen Steward curriculum and instructional standards.
• Provide learner-centered instruction through classroom lessons, demonstrations, and hands-on training.
• Teach safety, sanitation, equipment operation and stewarding practices.
• Supervise students during instruction and applied training.
• Evaluate progress and provide feedback for improvement.
• Maintain accurate student records and instructional hours.
