Job summary

Stonebridge Companies in Brisbane, California seeks a part-time Steward to ensure the orderly flow of china, glassware, and silver and to uphold cleanliness standards in accordance with health department regulations and hotel policies.

The Steward will support all outlets and banquets, operate dishwashing equipment, restock service areas, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, pantry, and storage areas. It is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Executive Chef.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or stewarding role is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, pantry, and storage areas.
• Ensures the proper handling and storage of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Monitors the dishwashing machine for proper cleaning and sanitation.
• Assists in transporting food and equipment to banquet and dining areas as needed.
• Follows health department regulations and hotel standards for cleanliness and safety.
• Disposes of trash and recycling in accordance with local regulations.
• Restocks dishes, glassware, and silverware in the kitchen and service areas.
• Communicates with the culinary team to ensure the timely delivery of kitchen equipment.
• Performs routine cleaning tasks such as mopping floors and wiping down surfaces.
• Assists with setting up and breaking down kitchen equipment for events.
