Job summary

Sand Sea in Santa Monica, CA seeks a Part-Time Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher to maintain a clean, safe kitchen and wash tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. The steward will keep the dish room organized and assist the Executive Chef/Director of Food & Beverage, including stocking the cafeteria with supplies.

Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines and ability to stand for long periods are required. Overtime and on-call shifts may be needed; you will work with a team to ensure timely service

Responsibilities

• Maintain a Guest focus while performing duties.
• Ensure cleanliness of dishware and kitchen areas.
• Operate, load, run and unload the dish machine.
• Monitor dish machine temperatures and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation.
• Report any functional or mechanical issues to the Chef.
• Wash, sanitize and store all tableware and kitchenware.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
• Restock dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans as needed.
• Break down and sanitize the dish machine at end of shift.
• Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.
• Complete opening and closing checklists for kitchen stations; assist in closing the kitchen.
• Attend scheduled meetings and contribute improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Chef or Director.
