Job summary

Rebel Hotel Company is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass, and silver, ensuring highest sanitation standards. The role also supports kitchen staff in keeping the kitchen and storage areas clean and properly rotated and stored.

The Steward will operate dishwashing equipment, assist with food storage, and maintain back dock areas, contributing to smooth daily hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate dish-washing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of china, glass, and silver.
• Replace clean china, glass, and silver in proper storage locations with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans, and kitchen utensils following proper sanitation procedures and store them correctly.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Steward

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silver and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
