Job summary

Avion Hospitality is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass and silver throughout the hotel kitchen and dining areas, while upholding the highest sanitation standards.

The role supports kitchen staff, operates dishwashing equipment, ensures proper food storage and rotation, and maintains a clean back dock and work areas. High school diploma or related hotel experience preferred; strong communication and composure under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation.
• Replace all clean china; glass and silver in storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils and store them properly.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and restaurant floors.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster; keep back dock area clean.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

Job Duties & Functions

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure that all china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such is maintained.
• Replace all clean china; glass and silver in its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedure for their cleanliness andsanitation, storing them in the proper location.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster. Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
