Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass and silver, while assisting kitchen staff with cleaning and sanitation. The role includes proper food storage and rotation, and supporting kitchen operations during busy periods.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, the ability to convey information clearly, and to work well under stress. Candidates should be capable, dependable, and maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation is maintained.
• Replace all clean china, glass and silver in proper storage locations with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedures for cleanliness and sanitation, storing them properly.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster; maintain back dock and dumpster area cleanliness.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
