Job summary

Chick-fil-A is seeking a Kitchen Shift Leader to drive daily restaurant operations with a servant’s heart and a focus on Operational Excellence. You will coach team members, ensure exceptional guest service, and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include coaching, opening/closing shifts, maintaining food quality and cleanliness, and developing future leaders while upholding Chick-fil-A standards across the team and guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
• Willing to work Fridays and Saturdays.
• Reliable transportation.
• Positive attitude and teamwork.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day operations in a high-volume restaurant.
• Provide real-time feedback and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Assist in training new hires and set the shift tone.
• Lead shifts, open/close, and manage cash drawers.
• Maintain guest service standards and food quality.
• Communicate clearly with team and managers.

Our Shift Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service. A Kitchen Shift Leader’s two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. Shift Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.

What does a shift look like as a Kitchen Shift Leader?

As a Shift Leader, you'll help lead daily restaurant operations by coaching team members, ensuring exceptional guest service, and keeping the shift running smoothly. You'll set the pace for the team, solve problems in real time, and support either the front and back of house to create an outstanding experience for every guest. Throughout your operational shift, you'll encourage team members, maintain high standards for food quality and cleanliness, problem-solve, and help develop future leaders. Every day is fast-paced, rewarding, and an opportunity to make a positive impact on both your team and your community.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Participating operationally in day-to-day activities in high-volume, fast-paced Restaurant
• Provide real-time feedback and reinforce positive behaviors
• Offer immediate and respectful response to guests' needs
• Assist in training of new hires, set the tone for a shift, and act as a role model for our team
• Be a friendly, encouraging team player
• Open and/or close, lead shifts, key holder
• Count drawers and finalize day
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Ensure compliance with all Chick-fil-A operational standards and procedures
