Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a Server Support – Central Kitchen to assist in producing nutritious meals for students. You will work under the Supervisor – Central Kitchen in a fast-paced production environment, following recipes and safety standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related food service experience, with proof of education or experience. On-site work with occasional catering support is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of related experience in food service.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience; Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food following recipes and standards in a safe, cost-efficient manner.
• Uses mathematics to check recipe conversions and calculate quantities.
• Maintains sanitation and safety in prep areas, storerooms, freezers, refrigerators, and equipment.
• Operates high-speed packaging equipment to batch meals.
• Supports catering events and assists mobile supervision at off-site sites when needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment in the production area per guidelines.
• Manages stock using FIFO in storerooms and monitors cooking times and temperatures per HACCP.
• Complies with school and District policies on quality and safety.
