Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking a Server Support - Central Kitchen to assist in producing nutritious meals in a clean and sanitary environment for students. Duties include following standardized recipes, calculating quantities, and operating high-speed packaging equipment.

The role emphasizes safe food handling, maintaining prep areas, and supporting catering events and off-site sites as needed. A High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related food service experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with 1 year of related food service experience.
• Proof of Education, Training, and/or Experience required.
• Must be able to work in a clean, sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food within the established production system following meal standards, recipes, and service methods.
• Uses mathematics to check recipe conversions and calculate food quantities needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of preparation areas, storerooms, freezers, refrigerators, and equipment.
• Operates high-speed packaging equipment to batch meals.
• Supports special catering events and assists the Mobile Supervisor at off-site sites as needed.
• Operates, disassembles, cleans, and sanitizes production equipment according to guidelines.
• Stocks storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers using FIFO; monitors cooking times and temperatures per HACCP.
• Complies with school and District policies, procedures and quality and safety standards.
• Attends training and meetings to maintain knowledge and skills.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
