Job summary

Olive & Finch Collective in Denver seeks an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee back-of-house operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and cost control. This exempt leadership role manages inventory, vendors, and BOH staffing, reporting to the General Manager and upholding the chef-driven standards that define Olive & Finch.

The ideal candidate will lead hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, champion a positive, inclusive work environment, and partner with FOH leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive kitchen leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to manage costs, control inventory, and build vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in hiring, training, and managing diverse teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen operations ensuring recipes, guides, and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized kitchen per health regs.
  • Manage BOH staff: hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance.
  • Develop prep lists, manage workflow for daily service.
  • Manage vendor relations: ordering, receiving, partnerships.
  • Oversee inventory; track usage and monitor costs to meet budgets.
  • Implement systems to ensure consistency, efficiency, cost control.
  • Collaborate with FOH leadership for smooth service.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment for BOH.
  • Assist in menu execution and seasonal kitchen improvements.
