Job summary

Gate Gourmet in Inwood, NY is seeking a motivated supervisor to oversee multiple kitchen departments, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of 30+ hourly staff, coordinate transportation and flight assignments, and partner with maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.

The role requires strong leadership, HACCP awareness, and the ability to train and coach staff while maintaining cost controls and high service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in high-volume manufacturing/food production/catering environment preferred.
• ServSafe certification required; certification in ServSafe preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, time management and coaching skills; able to manage 30+ hourly employees.
• Experience with wage/hour compliance and labor relations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees across departments in the kitchen and related areas.
• Manages transportation routing and flight delivery coordination; ensures timely departures.
• Coordinates with maintenance for preventive upkeep of machinery and timely repairs.
• Conducts inventory and minimizes waste; prepares end-of-month projections with Ops/GM.
• Prepares management reports on attendance, labor, and HACCP as required.
• Ensures adherence to all company, customer, federal and state policies and procedures.
• Trains staff on proper procedures to maximize productivity and control costs.
• Maintains workforce planning and staffing levels per shift; handles sick calls/vacations.
