30hop American Bar & Kitchen in Ankeny, IA is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team and uphold top food quality and kitchen organization.

We offer full- and part-time roles with night and weekend availability. Starting pay is $20–$23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with a strong benefits package including PTO, health options, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Previous professional kitchen experience required.
• Previous kitchen leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfortable working around heat, steam, and commercial kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and support personnel.
• Assist with employee scheduling, labor monitoring, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
• Foster a positive work environment and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Oversee food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and food waste to help control costs.
• Monitor food and labor costs while supporting kitchen efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen and properly functioning equipment.
• Communicate with management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
• Complete required kitchen documentation and operational records.
• Other duties as assigned.
