Job summary

B&B Theatres is seeking a Cook/Kitchen Staff member in Ankeny, IA to prepare meals and ensure quality and presentation. The role requires thorough experience in hot and cold preparation, safe operation of kitchen equipment, and a commitment to high sanitation standards.

The position involves working evenings and weekends, with occasional holiday shifts, in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Training and certifications will be provided, with opportunities to grow within the culinary team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Prior experience in food and beverage service is preferred.
• Experience with hot and cold food preparation is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and health codes is required.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (R-Serving, Food Handler, Food Manager) as needed and covered by the company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (ovens, fryers, grills, mixers, slicers).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Stock and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and availability.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures in line with policies and health regulations.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and servers to ensure timely orders.
• Manage time to handle busy periods and maintain workflow.
• Work independently or as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
