Job summary

Emmy Squared is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager in Washington, DC to lead daily kitchen operations and ensure top quality, safety and efficiency. You will supervise the BOH team, coordinate with the GM on cost controls, and maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.

The role requires strong culinary management experience in a full-service restaurant, proficiency with computers, and excellent communication. A pizza-focused background is a plus for our menu-driven concept.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary management experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Pizza knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with computers and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of kitchen employees daily and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Work with the General Manager to run the kitchen efficiently and minimize costs.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding and training of kitchen staff.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is properly used, maintained and safe.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Prepare menu items and act as expeditor to support service flow.
• Ensure all dishes meet restaurant standards before leaving the kitchen.
• Assist with labor scheduling to meet business needs and targets.
• Enforce health regulations and maintain superior sanitation across kitchen areas.
• Provide training to Front of House on menu knowledge and dietary needs.
