Job summary

Maplefields in Colchester, VT is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure a top customer experience, and direct food preparation for hot plate and cold well offerings while maximizing sales and minimizing waste. You will hire, train and supervise kitchen staff with the Store Manager, maintain inventory, place orders, and enforce food safety standards.

Shifts vary by location and leadership is required during peak times to foster a positive, collaborative work

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience with food preparation and safety procedures.
• Valid food safety certificate or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders per procedures and keep hot plate/cold well stocked with fresh grab-and-go items.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment including equipment and surfaces.
• Receive, rotate and store all incoming orders.
• Collaborate with kitchen and store staff; assist and train staff as needed.
• Lead the kitchen during busy times and direct staff when required.
• Maintain inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages.
• Record waste and implement practices to reduce waste and ensure proper dating and temperature checks.
