Job summary

Maplefields Food Service Supervisor at the University of South Burlington, VT oversees day-to-day operations to ensure a superior customer experience and smooth kitchen operation. Directs the food prep process for hot plate and cold well items to maximize sales while minimizing spoilage and maintaining Food Safety Standards.

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience and valid food safety certificate or willing to obtain certification.
• Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders per food prep procedures and ensure hot plate and cold well are full of fresh grab-and-go items.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment including washing dishes and cleaning equipment/surfaces.
• Receive, rotate and store all incoming orders.
• Communicate positively with kitchen and store staff and ask for help when needed.
• Work with Store Manager to hire, manage and train kitchen staff.
• Maintain inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages.
• Record waste and actively reduce unnecessary waste.
• Ensure proper dating of all products and accurate temperature checks.
