Job summary

Houston Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Technician (Kitchen hood/Extinguisher) to inspect, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems. You will work closely with customers to educate on proper use and ensure safety compliance across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have FEL-K or FEL-A licenses, NFPA-10 certification, and several years of extinguisher-related experience, with knowledge of fire safety codes and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Texas FEL-K or FEL-A license required.
• NFPA-10 certification or manufacturer certification preferred.
• Multiple years of experience in fire extinguisher inspection, maintenance, testing and repair.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and maintenance on fire extinguishers and kitchen hood suppression systems.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment; replace faulty components.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately.
• Educate customers on proper system use and maintenance.
• Travel to multiple customer sites and respond to service calls as needed.
