Job summary

Bagels by the Bay is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support kitchen operations, including salad prep, grilling, and general cleaning. The role emphasizes food preparation, safety, and fast-paced teamwork to ensure smooth service at our New York location.

The successful candidate will assist in washing, chopping, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes per menu, while keeping the kitchen and store clean and compliant with safety protocols. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.
• Familiarity with deli standards is a plus.
• Strong food preparation skills and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe handling.
• Ability to work fast-paced environments with attention to detail.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen operations, such as making salads ,ensuring that food preparation and cooking on the grill. As well as cleaning the kitchen and the store . This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our store and helping provide support to our team members

Duties

• Assist in food preparation,

• help in cooking and assembling dishes according to menu specifications


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces


• Ensure proper food handling and safety protocols are followed at all times


• Help cooking on the grill


• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours


• Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed


• Sweeping and mopping floors.


• Must ba able to lift pallets up from the floor to clean

Skills

• Previous experience preferred, but willing to train the right person


• Familiarity with menu planning and deli standards is a plus


• Strong food preparation skills, including cooking techniques and knife skills


• Experience in food service such As bagel or deli.


• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
