Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support daily operations in a high-volume kitchen. You will assist with food preparation, meal service, cleaning, dishwashing, and inventory while helping maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Full-time or part-time, shifts 7:00 AM-3:00 PM or 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, Sunday through Friday. Must be dependable and able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment; previous kitchen experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic cooking for daily meal service
• Set up food stations and bring out food for meal periods
• Monitor food stations during meals and replenish items as needed
• Check and stock paper goods before and during meal service
• Wash pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace
• Assist with post-meal cleanup of the kitchen and dining areas
• Unload deliveries and safely store food, supplies, and inventory
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily operations
• Assist with additional kitchen and food service responsibilities as needed

Compensation: $17.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
