Job summary

Bagels by the Bay is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support kitchen operations, including salad prep, grilling, and general cleaning. The role emphasizes food preparation, safety, and fast-paced teamwork to ensure smooth service at our New York location.

The successful candidate will assist in washing, chopping, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes per menu, while keeping the kitchen and store clean and compliant with safety protocols. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.
• Familiarity with deli standards is a plus.
• Strong food preparation skills and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe handling.
• Ability to work fast-paced environments with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
• Help with grilling and assembling dishes according to menu specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and store areas.
• Ensure proper food handling and safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Assist in inventory management and restocking.
• Sweep and mop floors and assist with general cleaning.
