Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Utility Worker at Wayne State University in Detroit. You’ll support kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food production and service areas.

The role requires basic sanitation knowledge, a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to stand long shifts, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds. Shift details vary; full- or part-time options.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, to include basic concepts of food safety.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or uses a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, clean and vacuum floors.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment with chemicals to maintain sanitary standards.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
• Walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as assigned.
