Job summary

Sodexo at Western Illinois University is seeking a part-time Utility Worker to support kitchen and facility operations. You will maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food production and service areas, clean and sanitize surfaces, and assist with basic setup and breakdown tasks as directed.

The role requires willingness to work varying shifts, no related work experience required, and a strong emphasis on sanitation and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience required.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and basic food safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes by hand or in a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; remove trash to designated areas.
• Clean equipment with appropriate chemicals to meet sanitary standards.
• Restock supplies (soap, towels, cleaning materials).
• Move and lift supplies; stand/walk for long periods as needed.
