Job summary

The Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City, SD is seeking a professional Cook to join our kitchen team. You’ll assist with stocking stations, prepare a range of dishes, and collaborate with the senior chef to ensure timely, quality plating during service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of cook experience, and a strong knowledge of food safety. ServeSafe is preferred; training opportunities and employee discounts accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a cook in a restaurant.
• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
• Prepare food including cleaning, cutting ingredients, and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers.
• Plate prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance.
• Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed on time.
• Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at the end of shifts.
• Ensure that kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
