Job summary

Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties is seeking a Kitchen Site Assistant to support meal planning, preparation, and delivery through Meals On Wheels and related programs. The role may become the primary delivery driver or assist the lead cook in their absence, reporting to the Site Director.

The position emphasizes safety, inventory control, volunteer coordination, and adherence to agency policies as part of daily kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and current liability insurance.
• Food Handler Certification.
• Obtain and keep current Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning/coordinating, preparation, and delivery.
• Site Assistant could serve as kitchen lead in the absence of Lead Cook.
• Deliver meals to Meals on Wheels participants using personal or OWBC vehicle.
• Adhere to agency policies and safety/food handling standards.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitize surfaces daily.
• Assist with inventory recording and menu posting.
