Job summary

HOPE, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Specialist to support site operations, prepare and cook meals for members, and assist with transportation and maintenance.

The role requires maintaining sanitation standards and working under the Site Coordinator’s supervision. Responsibilities include budgeting for supplies, coordinating with facilities, and teaching cooking and nutrition skills to members while ensuring excellent customer service and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Peer has firsthand knowledge of a behavioral health condition or substance use recovery.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for trainings and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Cooks hot breakfast and lunch for 55+ members daily.
  • Plans weekly meals for members and staff.
  • Maintains clean and organized kitchen.
  • Coordinates with Site Coordinator for supplies and maintenance.
  • Teaches cooking and nutrition as needed.
  • Manages monthly budget for supplies and food.
  • Provides transportation for members as needed and completes related billing docs.
  • Supports Site Director with operations and other duties.
  • Ensures safety and sanitation standards per health regulations.
  • Represents HOPE, Inc. in vendor relations where required.
