Job summary

Big Rapids Lumber & Hardware seeks a Kitchen & Bath Design Consultant (Inside/Outside Sales) to assist customers in showroom, on job-sites, and with design products. You will meet walk-in and phone-in customers, discuss projects, and contribute to company goals.

The role requires strong communication, sales and design knowledge, coordinating with builders, plumbers and homeowners, plus a flexible schedule for full- or part-time work.

Qualifications

• High School degree minimum (college degree preferred).
• Experience in the building industry is a strong plus.
• Retail and/or sales experience a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of kitchen and bath design products (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in showroom and office.
• Promote showroom benefits to area builders, contractors and designers.
• Schedule showroom appointments with homeowners and referrals from builders.
• Act as project liaison between plumber, builder and homeowner when needed.
• Sell features and benefits of decorative design and plumbing to homeowners.
• Build and maintain company market share in the area.
• Write up walk-in and phone-in customers’ orders.
• Answer calls and emails.
• Assist customers with pricing, product and delivery status information.
• Engage in customers’ projects; qualify needs and follow up on quotes and orders.
