Job summary

Westminster Oaks has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Cook I. The role prepares and serves quality food for residents, guests and employees, including salads, cold sandwiches and pantry items, and will bake hot items under supervision.

Duties include hot and cold food preparation under the direct supervision of the Cook, distribution of prepared food to service areas, restocking as needed, and maintaining a clean, safe work station in line with safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• A full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production is required.
• Florida SafeStaff certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hot food under the direct supervision of the Cook in accordance with standardized recipes.
• Performs cold food preparation under the guidance of the Cook in accordance with standardized recipes.
• Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and restocks items as needed.
• Cleans and maintains station with safe sanitation and organization.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
