Job summary

Westminster Oaks is hiring a full-time Assistant Cook to prepare and serve salads, cold sandwiches and pantry items for residents, guests and employees. The role includes baking hot items under the instruction of a cook and maintaining high safety and sanitation standards.

Walk-in interviews are encouraged from 9am to 11am. A Florida SafeStaff certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire is required, plus the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months experience in a full-service culinary setting.
• Florida SafeStaff certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs hot food preparation under direct supervision of the Cook in accordance with recipes.
• Performs cold food preparation under guidance of the cook in accordance with recipes.
• Distributes prepared food to all service areas and restocks items as needed.
• Cleans and maintains station with proper safety, sanitation and organization.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen and equipment.
