Job summary

Westminster St. Augustine, part of Westminster Communities of Florida, is hiring a Cook's Assistant I to support the kitchen team in preparing salads, sandwiches and pantry items for residents, guests and staff.

The role requires at least 12 months of culinary experience, a High School Diploma or Equivalent and Florida SafeStaff certification or ability to obtain within 90 days. We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement planning and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and Florida SafeStaff certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a full-service culinary setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak English and follow written and oral directions; basic math skills and knife handling.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited hot food preparation under direct supervision.
• Performs cold food preparation including salads, sandwiches and desserts.
• Distributes prepared food to service areas and restocks as needed.
• Cleans and maintains the kitchen station ensuring safety and sanitation.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen and equipment.
