Job summary

Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter seeks a Kitchen Aide to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to residents in a clean, sanitary environment, upholding our mission and values. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bentonville, AR.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and being 21+. Preferred are commercial kitchen experience and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days). Background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, well balanced meals in a timely fashion according to the posted menu.
• Follow posted instructions to meet residents' special needs (diet/allergies).
• Maintain sanitary kitchen conditions during preparation and service.
• Operate kitchen equipment and report malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a posted grocery list and assist with food donations as needed.
• Organize deliveries and keep inventory for delivered and donated foods.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean; sweep and mop floors.
• Empty trash daily or as needed.
• Keep refrigerators, freezers, ovens, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with Kitchen Manager on item rotation and stock.
• Adhere to shelter policies and procedures.
