Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Kitchen Aide to support daily meal preparation, service, and cleanup for shelter guests in a on-site facility. You will help with storage, inventory and meal reporting as part of the daily operations.

Under supervision, responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, assisting with ordering and inspections, and maintaining a clean kitchen. Requires a high school diploma and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 18 years of age is required.
• Experience with disadvantaged populations is required.
• Experience with homelessness nutritional needs preferred.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food storage, preparation, cooking and serving daily meals for shelter clients.
• Prepare and clean kitchen areas daily for service and inspections.
• Coordinate and supervise the kitchen volunteers.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff in ordering and inventorying food supplies.
• Other related duties as required.
