Job summary

Auria Space is hiring a Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer 1 or 2 for the MSV-TASD program. The role is on-site at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, focusing on developing ballistic and advanced kinematic threat models and documenting V&V processes.

Required are a STEM bachelor’s with experience and a DoD Secret clearance. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and LaTex is expected; travel up to 10% may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM discipline preferred with 2 years' experience for S&E 1, or 0-2 years with a Masters.
• S&E 2 requires 5 years' experience or 3 years with MS or PhD with 1 year experience.
• Current active in-scope DoD Secret clearance required to start.
• Familiar with flight characteristics, motion and performance of ballistic missiles.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision in a delivery-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Develop ballistic and advanced/hypersonic kinematic threat models for various tools/frameworks.
• Apply engineering/mathematical algorithms to accurately portray missile/space vehicle behavior during flight.
• Understand modeling/simulation methods and processes.
• Research/verify parameters to build/replicate trajectories including staging debris and countermeasures.
• Author highly technical Verification & Validation documents.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to meet product requirements.
