Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks energetic teachers to deliver high-quality instruction aligned with state standards. You will plan purposeful, rigorous lessons, assess mastery, and track progress to ensure all students advance toward college readiness.

You will engage families, collaborate with the IDEA team, and contribute to a positive school culture while upholding IDEA values and delivering after-school support as needed.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 teachers or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual/ESL certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track individual student progress and adjust plans and gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology to enhance communication and classroom management.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture aligned to campus initiatives.
• Build relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Lead after-school tutoring or Saturday sessions as needed.
